What is Reiki Good For?

We humans have a tendency of categorizing everything under “Good” or “Bad”. And we also easily switch our teams blaming it on “circumstances.

A few days back, I was having a headache, being a preacher of avoiding chemicals and going natural. I didn’t take any painkillers. But after two days of tolerating that pinching pain, I finally gave up and popped a pill. In my mind, I had “n” number of reasons to convince myself — Ohh, you needed to complete your work. It is okay at times you need to handle with “unnatural dose” blah blah! But did it do good to me? Yes, certainly — With pain gone, I was in a much better state.

Similar is Reiki!

The goodness can only be perceived by a person who wishes to explore it with open hands and faith in heart.

Developing Will Power

As a Reiki grandmaster and healer with my daily practice, I find Reiki helping me and my connections. I find the “good” in it, as it helps me in managing my energy levels. It helps in staying aware and yet calm in any situation. The above incident of “headache” to tolerate pain up to 2 days would have not been possible a decade back. I might have [and done] popped a pill within an hour of headache. So indeed, in a way it is pushing me to make me a better person, every day.

The Good of Reiki is helping me “Developing will power”, and everyday testing its limits.

Go With The Flow

However, I also remember one of my acquaintances, who was having back pain.

In my early days of being a healer, I used to quickly suggest to get reiki Healing, but nowadays, I don’t suggest. Let people realize themselves what kind of healing they need. That’s also a realization [a good thing] that came up with the continuous practice of Reiki.

So coming back to my fellow being who was having back pain. I suggested Reiki and he readily agreed. Being a learner myself, I was in full spirit that Reiki would take away all his pain. He asked me — Would it work? With my enthusiasm in full bloom and magic in my hands I assured yes, it would.

After the healing session was over, and I felt some of the blockages with his chakra, I was assured that instant relief would be there. But when I asked — How are you feeling? He said pain is still there. I was speechless, Can Reiki fail?

The Good Of Reiki is in respecting the individual’s decision, and not to overpower it. It’s a path of self-realization, where whatever you ”do/don’t do” you are responsible for the results.

As the person had “doubt” bigger than “faith” the pain remained and didn’t go! He didn’t believe in it and hence was not cured.

Explore Your true Self

With the lockdown and pandemic effect, things came to halt. New routine, new challenges were throwing life off track. Being a remote worker since last five years, I never felt the need to going to Office basically — the need to find solitude. But now things changed. With others on call for online classes or office work or streaming a movie I was suddenly looking for someplace where I can shut off all noises and get into deep work.

Suddenly I started waking up at 3:30 am, after my morning chores, yoga a meditation I was able to work deeply for almost three hours. That’s like “super deep work” with no phone, no doorbells, no deliveries and no noises.

I have never been a morning person, and that too “Brahma muhurta[early morning hours]” was like a dream to me. The latest I could wake up is by 5:30 am and that too I used to crib all day about less sleep.

But these days, I feel more energetic, I am more aware and alert.

The Good Of Reiki helped in managing my self better. In such an adverse condition, it offered me directions on “How to remain sane” rather than blaming others and pandemic, I got a chance to explore my better side.

Grow Spiritually

Being a yoga enthusiast, I have always longed for a teacher. Have tried “n” number of schools and classes, but after a while, I feel a disconnect. I was not satisfied with the yoga, and I used to discontinue. But subconsciously I was always looking for a yoga teacher.

When we relocated in November 2019 to a new city, and somehow I was going through a phase of adapting to this new place. I explored again.

My first class with my teacher gave me open doors to such a beautiful experience, I can never forget. Every asana, every breath I took that day was like connecting to myself. Felt so lighter, felt so fresh that I never looked back. And now each day, Yoga is part of my life. No excuses, no distraction just a natural flow of doing yoga every day.

The Good Of Reiki is helping me in growing and evolving on the spiritual path.

This space is all about sharing my experiences on “Life Energy” with the sole motive of inspiring my fellow beings to be aware and take care of mental health. The need of the hour!
